Matt Carlyon (pronounced Car-lion) joined the UNH Foundation in November 2006 as the Associate Director of Major Gifts, for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS).
Before joining the UNH Foundation, Matt was the Vice President of Client Wealth Management at the socially responsible investment company, Citizens Funds in Portsmouth, NH. During his tenure at Citizens Funds, Matt successfully increased assets under management during a period of market uncertainty and was responsible for managing the relationships of the firm’s top 100 retail shareholders.
Prior to that he was a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney in Boston where he used his financial planning skills to build relationships with non-profit organizations and high net worth clients.
Matt earned his BA in Earth Science Teaching from the University of New Hampshire, successfully completed the NASD Series 7 and 65 licenses, and accomplished his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Matt is a Durham resident, and a professional volunteer with the Durham Fire Department. In his spare time, you will find Matt working on his antique home (c. 1784), playing golf, paddle tennis or skiing.
