Good-bye to DeMeritt Hall

Farewell to DeMeritt Hall Picnic, May 5, 2007 “The building will be demolished by a large machine taking bites out of the building,” says physics department chair Dawn Meredith. “So the cake-cutting and eating is appropriately symbolic.” Additional activities for the day will include the coveted vintage voltmeter raffle.
During the Farewell to DeMeritt Hall tous were provided to the various labs and the Neutron Monitor was reopened. Attendees were also able to hear an overview form the architechs regarding plans for the new DeMeritt. After listening to several comical accounts describing water leaks and etc., the doors were closed for the ceremonial locking of the doors only to find there was only one handle!
