BAE SYSTEMS Gives UNH $1 Million for Center for Advanced Technology
The University of New Hampshire Foundation has announced a $1 million gift from the Nashua unit of BAE SYSTEMS to establish an advanced technology center at UNH’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS).
UNH and Manufacturers Team-Teach High School Science
Erling Mostue of Aavid Thermal Technologies was the driving force behind an innovative program involving manufacturers, high schools, and UNH math profs. The high school teachers and students learn a highly effective method for designing scientific experiments -- in school and in the factory.
Sponsors Help Make UNH Mini Baja a Winner
UNH mechanical engineering students took 7th place with the amphibious vehicle they entered in the Internat'l Mini Baja East. Foss Motors donated a trailer for transporting the vehicle. Other major donors: Dreher-Holloway, Textron Automotive, Sanders, Sears Roebuck & Co, and Fred Soucy's Metal Fab.
TYCO INTERNATIONAL Gives $5 Million for Scholarships??
Tyco International has established a $4 million fund to support outstanding students in engineering and physical sciences and a $1 million endowment to fund the Tyco Fellow in Ocean Mapping and support the ocean mapping program.
INTELLITECH Donates Software and Equipment
Intellitech Corporation donated $370,000 worth of test equipment and software to the UNH electrical and computer engineering department. The company, which produces scan-based diagnostic tools, was founded by UNH EE alum C.J. Clark, '86.
