CEPS Launches Frontiers Lecture Series


DURHAM -- The University of New Hampshire College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) launches the CEPS Frontiers Lecture Series today.

David Keyes The first speaker in the series, which will feature distinguished experts from all the fields of study taught at CEPS, is David E. Keyes, Fu Foundation Professor of Applied Mathematics at Columbia University.

Keyes' lecture is titled “Scalable Solvers and Software for PDE-based Applications.”

Fraser StoddartOn April 26, Fraser Stoddart, Saul Winstein Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of California at Los Angeles will present a lecture titled “The Nature of the Mechanical Bond.”

Alex AceroOn May 3, Alex Acero, a senior researcher and manager with the Microsoft Speech Technology Group, will present a lecture titled “Multimodal Spoken Language Understanding.”

Additional speakers will be announced at a later date. All lectures will begin at 4 p.m. in DeMerritt Hall, room 152. Refreshments will be served at 3:30.
