The New Kingsbury Hall Equipment Fund
The Past
Kingsbury Hall was constructed in 1949, during the era of slide rules and drafting tables. The computer was still just a concept. Interactive learning and student projects were rare. Over the years, of course, things have changed—dramatically.
The Present
The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences has developed a reputation for hands-on research and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The Kingsbury Hall renovation project will produce a facility worthy of housing the high-quality education underway at the College and well-suited to the 21st century. But the college must raise $2.3 million to cover instructional equipment and furniture for the building.
The Challenge
The New Kingsbury Hall Equipment Fund was launched to help make this $2.3 million fundraising effort a success. Major categories of needs include:
| Laboratory equipment | $800,000 |
| Laboratory furniture | $400,000 |
| Interactive computer-based classrooms | $300,000 |
| Classroom furniture | $400,000 |
| Office furniture | $400,000 |
A piece of the Future
The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences has a proud past—and a promising future. With the help of loyal alums and friends, we can reach a new level of excellence. Support the New Kingsbury Hall Equipment Fund by donating at one of three levels: gold ($1000), silver ($500), or bronze ($250).
Lasting Testimony
Gifts will be recognized with a name—your own or someone else’s—engraved on a nameplate (1 inch by 3.25 inches) and mounted on finished walnut plaques. Plaques will be displayed through out the new building, lasting testimony of your support for the future of education.
Increased Giving
You may choose to begin your giving at the bronze level. Should you decide to make a further donation at another time, you can be moved up to the silver or gold level. You may also increase your giving level with a company matching gift.
Focused Giving
Gifts can be earmarked for equipment for specific departments. Otherwise, they will be distributed for equipment as needed (at the discretion of the dean in consultation with the departments).
