Finding Jobs and Internships

Here are five ways to begin looking for a job or internship. Many students at UNH--up to 80 or 90 percent in some majors--try out their chosen field while they're still in school, with an internship or other part-time or summer work.

Check your e-mail

Many departments in the college disseminate job and internship notices through their student e-mail distribution lists.

Go to MONSTERTRAK with the UNH online job clearinghouse

The leading website for college students and alumni to find jobs, internships and part-time work during school and after graduation. In addition to targeted job postings, the site features a range of career management resources including job search tips, alumni networks and more. To subscribe you must be affiliated with UNH.

Visit UNH Career Services

At the Career Services office or Web site you will find information on internships (approximately 150 advertised for UNH students in engineering and computer science), resume writing, graduate school, online job-search links, MONSTERTRAK, and more.

Visit your department's Web site

The UNH civil engineering department and mechanical engineering department have listings of job openings in the region. The chemical engineering department has a "profession" page with links to various job- and career-related sites on the Web.

Go to Work on Campus

UNH students can often get excellent training and experience right here on campus. The university's InterOperabililty Lab, for example, employs students from all levels in the world's largest and most diverse testing network of data communications equipment. The IOL employs students majoring in computer science and electrical and computer engineering, as well as other majors, including math, physics, chemistry, and civil engineering. Go to our Research Centers & Groups page for a list of other labs and research centers.
