What do mathematicians and statisticians do?
Mathematicians solve economic, scientific, engineering, physics, and business problems using mathematical theory, analysis, computation, and computer technology. Statisticians apply their mathematical knowledge to design experiments and analyze data in biology, economics, engineering, medicine, public health, psychology, marketing, and education. A degree in mathematics education prepares graduates to teach at the K-12 or post secondary level.
