For Fall 2009 the Society introduced the removal of membership dues. Effective January 2010 any gift or donation to a CEPS related fund entitles the benefactor to a one-year membership in the CEPS Alumni Society. Also included within this edition readers are reminded that before 1975, the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences was the UNH College of Technology. In that context we were introduced to the first UNH Technology "Girl" Miss Edith Holt, who made headlines receiving her degree in 1934. Other highlights include: Joe Paterno announced as the 2009 Distinguished Alum, Alumni Seminar Series October 28, with Laura Thompson, Ph.D., with her talk entitled, "Key Environmental Issues in the Paper Industry," Dean Klewicki receives national recognition as ASME Freeman Scholar, and Department News.
Highlighted within the pages of the Spring 2009 edition of the newsletter was the state-of-art facilities from the perspective of Physics undergrad, Morgan O'Neill '09, CEPS alum Anthony Coviello, PE selected at the 2009 New Hampshire Young Engineer of the Year, CEPS Alumni Seminar Series feature of Mechanical Engineering alum Shannon Stott, "Microfabrication and Microfluidics: Bridging Engineering and Biological Sciences," the CEPS Student Project Fund, Dean Klewicki's address regarding the economic downturn's impact on CEPS, and the Department News.
The Fall 2008 edition of the newsletter announced the reopening of DeMeritt Hall and that the Department of Physics was in the process of moving back in as well as Electrical and Computer Engineering Department's celebration of their 100th anniversary. Other highlights include: Robert Tillotson, Civil Engingeering BS '77 selection as CEPS Distinguished Alum; the passing of Professor within Earth Sciences, Karen Von Damm; student spotlight of Chemical Engineering freshman Megan Creighton, B.S. '10; Alumni Association awardees: Peter Davis '60 and Jack Smith '50 with the Meritorious Service Award, Jefferson Hall '96 with the Young alumnus achievement Award; and the Department News followed by the Greeting from Dean Klewicki.
The Spring 2008 edition introduces the CEPS Student Project Fund and the seminar series, welcomes new members, provides updates on Homecoming, the annual Undergraduate Research Conference and shares department news as well as a student spotlight gaining real-world experience.
The Fall 2007 edition shares measures UNH and CEPS alumni have taken in response to emergency preparedness needs as well spotlights CEPS alumni recognized during UNH Commencement. For more information click on the left image.
